Faultless O’Gara secures Munster win

Despite scoring a class try from full back Girvan Dempsey Leinster were out gunned by a combative pack and the boot of Ronan O’Gara as Munster scored a valuable Magners league win over their old rivals at Thomond Park on Wednesday.

The visitors led 11-10 at the break thanks to Dempsey’s try and five points from Jonathan Sexton, but Munster took a strangle hold in the second period with O’Gara kicking five from five to put the game out of reach of third placed Leinster. Even the return of Felipe Contepomi after his knee injury, as a second half substitute could not swing the game the way of the Dublin based side and in the end O’Gara was named man of the match as his side scored a comfortable victory.
