| The result gave the Blues an element of revenge for the Heineken Cup defeats by Munster, not to mention a first win in Ireland since 2005.
Cardiff raced to a 13-0 half-time lead, stunning a sold-out Musgrave Park. Tom James's opportunist try just before the break was converted by Blair, who also kicked two first half penalties.
Munster had only lost once at their Cork base and fought back somewhat after the break. But all they could muster were four Eoghan Hickey penalties as the European champions, minus their international contingent, failed to gel consistently.
Lifeimi Mafi and Tomas O'Leary came closest to scoring for Munster. But the Blues held out, Blair kicked two more penalties, and the Welshmen moved to fourth in the Magners League table.
