| Edinburgh ended a three game losing streak at Murrayfield on Friday night, and in the process secured a bonus point against the Newport Gwent Dragons. |

| The home side trailed to two Ceri Sweeney penalties early on before a Chris Paterson penalty narrowed the gap, and then a superb Paterson break allowed Chris Bentley to dive over for his first Edinburgh try which Paterson converted as the home side took the lead.
Andrew Kelly scored a second, with Paterson again adding the extras and it looked to be going the Scottish sides way but the Dragons bounced back with Aled Brew sprinting clear to score in the corner Sweeny adding the trick conversion to narrow the gap to four
However the home side made sure of the win with a double strike at the start of the second period. First David Callam went over and then
Ally Hogg scored their fourth try to make sure of the bonus point
A Duncan Hodge penalty further extended the lead but the Dragons continued to battle and were rewarded with a Sweeney try and conversion but they were unable to narrow the gap any further in the closing stages.
