Munster's Alan Quinlan beats The Dragons' Michael Owen to the ball
Alan Gaffney's side produced a second-half surge to grab three tries and keep the pressure on title rivals The Ospreys in their game against Edinburgh the following day.

However the low point of the evening for the Irish province was an injury to flyhalf Ronan O'Gara. The Ireland No.10 was forced from the field with a knee injury and will undergo a scan to assess the damage ahead of Munster's Heineken Cup quarter-final against Biarritz next weekend.

In an uneventful opening period O'Gara gave his side the lead in the opening minutes with Ceri Sweeney levelling the scores just before halftime.

The second half was a completely different story with Munster dominating throughout. Flanker Alan Quinlan grabbed the first try of the game on the hour mark, and this was quickly followed by another from John Kelly after he pounced on a gift from the Dragons' defence.

Shaun Payne scored Munster's third and final try eight minutes from time. All three touchdowns were converted by Paul Burke who came on as substitute for O'Gara.

The Dragons did grab some reward for their efforts when Wales full-back Kevin Morgan took a superb pass from Sione Tuipolotu to score.
