With Dwayne Peel and Gareth Bowen already suffering from ankle injuries the half back department has been further depleted by a calf injury for Mike Philips and Arwel Thomas struggling with a stomach bug.

There are also problems in the back row with Skipper Simon Easterby still not fully recovered from his back injury and Scott Quinnell also a doubt with a shoulder problem.

"I injured myself doing weights, and it's been frustrating to miss the last two games, especially with the way the performances have been, Easterby told the BBC.  "We are not low on confidence, but need to improve our individual skills and our team performance."

The Scarlets management will give their injured squad as long as possible to prove their fitness before naming their side on Friday afternoon.
