Jones cleared to face Connacht
10 February 2006, 4:36 pm
By Chris Marais
Dafydd Jones, the Llanelli Scarlets back row forward banned for three weeks after being sent off by Scottish referee Peter Allan in the Celtic League match against Ulster at Ravenhill on Friday, 27 January, will be eligible to resume playing on Saturday, 18 February, 2006.
Following clarification from the Celtic League it has been confirmed that following Jones' hearing before the WRU's Disciplinary Sub-Committee at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, on Tuesday, 31 January, it was incorrectly stated that Mr Jones would be eligible to resume playing on Tuesday, 21 February, 2006.

The suspension runs from the date of the sending-off and not the date of the hearing so Jones will be free to play for Llanelli Scarlets in their Celtic League match at Connacht Rugby on Saturday, 18 February, a week before Wales play Ireland at Lansdowne Road in the RBS 6 Nations Championship.
