| This has been won the last two years by Ulster, who look odds on favourites to retain the title again, but with only two games left to play at Ravenhill, they will face stiff competition from Ospreys and Cardiff, who also each still have 2 home games, whilst Irish neighbours, Leinster, have moved some of their games to the 49,000+ capacity Lansdowne Road.
Ulster have increased their average attendances at Celtic League games by over 30%, to an average of over 9,000 fans per match, and will have had at least two sell out capacity gates by the end of this season. Celtic League attendances overall have increased for the second year running, since the league was reduced to 11 teams, and are now averaging out at over 5000 spectators per game. Several teams have moved to larger grounds – Ospreys are now based at the new 20000+ seat Liberty Stadium whilst Leinster have played at both the RDS Showground and Lansdowne Road – which has increased capacity, and with an exciting brand of rugby on offer, fans are voting with their feet.
