Newport Gwent Dragons have made eight changes to the team that lost to the Blues on Wednesday for their trip west to Stradey Park, three changes are positional.
Leigh Hinton makes his first start of 2006 at fullback replacing youngster Aled Thomas who moves to fly half. Elsewhere in the backs Ben Breeze comes in on the wing for Nathan Brew who moves to centre with Ceri Sweeney on the replacements bench. James Ireland takes over from Gareth Baber at scrum half.

In the forwards David Maddocks and Gethin Robinson start at loose head and tight head prop respectively while there is an all new second row with Bryn Griffiths and Peter Sidoli starting. Jamie Ringer moves over to open side flanker with Rhys Oakley coming in at blindside. Michael Owen will captain the side.

Looking ahead to Saturday’s game Head Coach Paul Turner commented, “Saturday’s match comes after an intense week and we feel we have a few players challenging for spots in the team. We have huge respect for the Scarlets but we don’t aim to go to Stradey to make up the numbers. Our pride is on the line and we expect the side to give a good account of themselves.”
