Glasgow Warriors have signed England U21 player Thom Evans from London Wasps
The winger/fullback, whose maternal grandfather Fred Thom was born in Glasgow, is known for his impressive pace having been a 100m and 200m sprinter at England Schools level.  Also a keen golfer, he has played for the South at U16 level.

He said: “I’m really looking forward to playing with Glasgow.  Sean [Lineen] sounds very positive and with him on board as head coach and this group of players starting the new season afresh, I’m keen to play their style of rugby and it’s a great opportunity for me.”

He joined the London Wasps Academy directly from school (Wellington College, Berkshire) and made his first start for England U21 earlier this year against Scotland in the shadow 6 Nations tournament, scoring two tries in the process.

Before taking up rugby full time, Thom was a member of pop band Twen2y4Se7en and toured as a support act with McFly, Peter Andre and Westlife throughout 2004.

Evans will join the Warriors during the summer for the start of the new season.
