Edinburgh Gunners back-row forward Allister Hogg has undergone an ultrasound scan in Edinburgh this morning following the hamstring pain which forced him to retire from Wednesday’s Scotland v Barbarians match at Murrayfield.
Scotland tour doctor Gerry Haggerty said: “The scan has shown there is no hamstring tear and Ali will be starting an active rehab programme.”

Meanwhile Hogg’s Gunners team-mate Marcus Di Rollo was examined by an orthopaedic surgeon last night and does not require a scan. “Marcus had taken a knock to his knee. That’s settling down and he will be working on his rehab,” Dr Haggerty added.

Scott Murray (ribs) and Hugo Southwell (thigh) also sustained injuries against the Barbarians and are receiving physio. All the injured players are being assessed on an ongoing basis.
