| This saw the likes of Reivers and Scotland back-row Kelly Brown and the Reivers' Samoan lock Opeta Palepoi meet around 150 schoolchildren at the Greenyards in Melrose.
Elsewhere, Reivers players attended rugby sessions at Fountainhall Primary School near Stow and Stirches Primary School in Hawick.
Reivers' captain Chris Cusiter said: "The community programme is great fun for the players and we're certain that the kids that we go and visit are equally as enthusiastic about rugby. I hope that this year's programme will see more youngsters on the terraces at Netherdale supporting the Reivers."
Last season's programme saw the Reivers squad out and about all over the Borders region, visiting over 40 clubs and 22 schools during the season which brought the pro-team to an audience of 10,000 men, women and children.
This year, the Reivers are determined to make the 2006/07 programme, bigger and better than ever before.
The players and coaches have visited over 20 clubs, schools and local events this season and have already mounted-up over 20 bookings for the coming weeks.
The Border Reivers are also offering Under 18s that participate in the community programme the opportunity to come and watch a Reivers home Magners League game for only £1*.
The Reivers also welcome today their first community partner. Buccleuch Group is supporting the Reivers' work within the community and hope that the partnership will help give the programme a well deserved boost so that as many people can enjoy taking part as possible.
