| The Heineken Cup's leading try-scorer had his right foot trodden on in last Friday's defeat at Glasgow and broke his little toe on his right foot.
"If the game against Ulster was a Cup final, then Dafydd (pictured) would play, but it's not so it's likely he will be rested to give him time to recover properly," said a club spokesman.
The club spokesman stressed it was "only a minor problem" and he expects James to make a rapid recovery.
The only other injury scare at Stradey Park at the moment is Craig Dunlea. The Kiwi prop tweaked a hamstring against Glasgow and is likely to be out of action for a couple of weeks.
