Cusiter captains Reivers in final derby of season

The four Border Reivers players who featured in Scotland’s RBS 6 Nations campaign return to the Reivers’ starting line-up for the last Scottish derby of the season, against Edinburgh on Friday night.

With Ross Ford, Gavin Kerr and Kelly Brown making their return to the pack, Chris Cusiter pulls on the captain’s armband for the first time in over four months having last captained the side against Ulster at Ravehill in November.

Elsewhere, Bryan Rennie returns to the back-line alongside Ben MacDougall in the centre.

Looking forward to tomorrow’s game, Reivers head coach Steve Bates said: Tomorrow’s game will be another huge challenge against a side full of international players.

“I hope that we will see a fast and exciting game that allows the players from both sides to show the national selectors what they can do in the run up to the World Cup.”

Border Reivers team to play Edinburgh Rugby in the Magners League at Netherdale on Friday 23 March (kick-off 7:30pm)
