| Ahead of the Heineken Cup quarter final registration deadline, Leinster have confirmed the registrations of Ireland international Keith Gleeson and 24-year-old Fijian international lock forward Ifereimi Rawaqa from the World Corporation club in Japan. |
Ifereimi signs on a short-term contract for the remainder of the season. Niall Treston is also coming in as one of the front row players, as per ERC rules.
Meanwhile, Leinster Rugby can today confirm that David Holwell will not be playing for Leinster next season as he has decided to return home to New Zealand.
Speaking on Thursday, Leinster Chief Executive Mick Dawson said: “David has decided to return home to Northland for family reasons having lived away from home for close to seven years. Since signing last October from the Wellington Hurricanes, David has proven to be a model professional and a key performer throughout what has been a very good year for the team.
“Though we will be disappointed to see him depart, we respect his wishes and Leinster Rugby would like to take this opportunity to thank David for all his efforts this year and to wish both himself and his family continued success this season and for the future.”
