Edinburgh’s Chris Paterson has been named Scotland's player of the season
The 27-year-old utility back effectively earned the Scots their only win of the RBS 6 Nations this year, kicking six penalties in the 18-10 win over Italy at Murrayfield.

The Edinburgh Gunners star also recorded a 40-point personal haul in the 100-8 win over Japan in November at McDiarmid Park - the second highest in Scottish history.

But the campaign ended on a disappointing note for Paterson when he was omitted from the Lions squad to tour New Zealand this summer.
