| After their big win over the Dragons on Friday night Scarlets fans will enjoy a superb double bill next Saturday with the Llanelli semi pro team in the Konica Minolta Welsh Cup at the Millennium Stadium, at 1pm and the Scarlets hosting the Ospreys in the Celtic Cup semi final at Stradey Park at 5.30pm |
The Cup Final has been brought forward an hour from its original 2pm kick off to allow Llanelli fans to get back to Stradey Park in time for the Celtic Cup semi final against the Ospreys.
There has been much behind the scenes work going on since the Scarlets won at Rodney Parade on Friday night. That win clinched a home semi final next Saturday – on the same day that semi-pro side, Llanelli, plays Pontypridd in the Millennium Stadium in the Konica Minolta final.
Chief Executive Stuart Gallacher thanked Gareth Davies at S4C, the WRU, Millenium Stadium management, Pontypridd and South Wales police in agreeing to bring forward kick off to 1pm.
“There are a lot of committed fans who support the semi pro and Regional sides and it would have been really unfortunate if they were forced to miss out on one of the games.
“Also the Llanelli side have done extremely well to get to the final and deserve to be well supported.”
The club has also announced that it, in conjunction with the WRU, will be laying on free buses from Stradey to the Millennium Stadium and back for travelling supporters. And for those who can’t travel to Cardiff, the bars at Stradey will open early – at midday – to show the domestic cup final live on television.
Tickets for both games will be available from the Stradey ticket office on Tuesday morning. Tickets for the Celtic Cup semi final are now available on line.
