Wales brought their international season to a close with a 60-3 triumph over Canada on Saturday while Ireland got the better of Japan 44-12 on Sunday.
Wales ran in nine tries, including two from Jonathan Thomas, while Ceri Sweeney added 15 points with the boot in an emphatic display at York Stadium.

However, they took their time to shake off the resilient Canucks who held the Six Nations champions to a 15-3 lead at half-time.

Mike Ruddock's side upped their game again in the second period to notch seven tries including first tries at international level for both Ben Broster and new cap Chris Czekaj. The Ospreys Martin Jones also made his international bow.

They have now won their last eight games in a row, a run that dates back to November when they beat Japan in Cardiff and represents their best form since Graham Henry´s team went 10 games unbeaten between 1998 and 1999.

Meanwhile, in Osaka, Ireland got their tour off to a winning start with Niall O'Donovan  taking the coaching reigns with Eddie O'Sullivan on duty with the Lions in New Zealand.

Ireland ran in four tries from Tommy Bowe, Kevin Maggs, Frankie Sheahan and Simon Best.

David Humphreys kicked eight early points for the tourists, with replacement Jeremy Staunton then taking up duties and adding a further 16 to Ireland´s score.

Ulster's Matt McCulloch, Roger Wilson and Kieran Campbell, Munster's Trevor Hogan and Leinster's Bernard Jackman all made their international debuts.
