Misery for Lions in Christchurch
25 June 2005, 11:24 am
By Jonathan McConnell
The Lions endured a miserable night in Christchurch on Saturday going down 21-3 to New Zealand in the first test.
The tourists were outclassed in every department and were not helped by the loss of skipper, Leinster’s Brian O’Driscoll with a dislocated shoulder in the first minute of the game.
The injure will rule O’Driscoll out of the reminder of the tour and the Lions midfield resources have been further depleted when Welshman Tom, Shanklin was injured in training on Saturday morning – also ending his tour.
