A superb display from the All Blacks and in particular Daniel Carter has secured an unassailable 2-0 series win for New Zealand over the Lions.
|
The fly half scored two of his side’s five tries and kicked 23 points in the 48-118 win in Wellington on Saturday.
The Lions had come out firing after last weekend’s defeat in Christchurch and skipper Gareth Thomas had scored in the first minute, with Jonny Wilkinson’s conversion opening a 7-0 lead before the home side were in their stride. However one the All Blacks got into their stride there was only one side in it, with Tana Umaga, Sitiveni Sivivatu and Richie McCaw also scoring.
The Lions did get a second half try through Llanelli Scarlets skipper Simon Easterby, but it was only consolation as the All Blacks left the Lions tour hopes in tatters.
