Kevin McCullough, Managing Director of npower renewables said, "We are delighted that the first major npower renewables sports sponsorship deal will be with the Ospreys. They are the premier team in Wales and have a growing fan base throughout the South West Wales area. We were attracted to the sponsorship because of the team's outstanding performance over the last season and reputation as the leading team in Wales.
"Our sister company, electricity retailer npower, has a strong track record in sports sponsorship in England. npower renewables has a long heritage of developing and operating renewable energy projects in Wales and given our ongoing commitment to working with local communities, we decided that sponsorship of a Welsh rugby team of the calibre of the Ospreys' would be a very successful partnership for us."
Mike Cuddy joint managing director of the Ospreys said, "We are very pleased to secure such a lucrative sponsorship deal for the Ospreys and to work with npower renewables, who are an innovative company, leading the way in green energy in the UK."
In addition to the sponsorship, npower renewables will work in partnership with the Ospreys to run a community programme of events throughout the rugby season.
