| Following a 43-17 victory over our regional select squad at Llandovery last night, the coaching team will get their second opportunity of the week to field a few more of our summer signings this weekend, with outside half Mike Hercus and Welsh No.8 Alix Popham set to make their first appearances for the Scarlets on Saturday.
But, they’ll also have an eager eye on Welsh International Dafydd Jones as he makes his come back from a nagging pelvic injury which has kept him out of action since Wales’ Six Nations victory over England back in February.
“Dafydd has undergone a summer of intensive treatment and is now really eager to get back out on the pitch” says Scarlets Coach Nigel Davies. “This is our final pre-season fixture and we’re hoping to field a very similar side to the one that will play against Edinburgh next weekend. Saturday will be a challenge, but it’ll also be great final preparation to the new season”.
The Scarlets take on X1X Rugby at Chepstow RFC this Saturday, kick off is at 1pm and there will be no charge for entry to the ground.
