Eamon Hegarty, 48, is set to join the staff of Scottish Rugby to strengthen overall financial control, purchasing and IT requirements.
His predecessor in that role, Graham Ireland, will now assume full responsibility for the post of Company Secretary from which Bill Hogg retired in June.

SRU Chief Executive Gordon McKie said: “My initial review of the Finance and IT departments confirms that there is a lot to do and we need to strengthen various business controls.

“Eamon has been interviewed by our remuneration and nomination committees and has been appointed Head of Finance and IT.  He is known to me and I have a very high regard for his financial management skills.”
