Jenkins confident Scarlets will bounce back

Gareth Jenkins has vowed that his Llanelli Scarlets side will bounce back after their defeat last weekend when they visit the Borders Reivers on Sunday.

“We are kicking ourselves at a lost opportunity to start the season positively,” Jenkins told the side’s website. “We have looked at the video and it is a horror movie. Every single player in the team has got reason to cringe because everyone across the board was involved as far as the error was concerned. We made 26 turnovers and that had a lot to do with our lack of cohesion”.

“It was always a case of how quickly we could get these players into playing mode and we were a long way off it. But we have a lot to learn from that and look forward – and that means our trip to the Borders on Sunday”.

With four changes to last weekend’s side, Jonathan Mills slots in at 6, while Inoke Afeaki is set to make his first league debut at Netherdale on Sunday. Aisea Havili finds himself on the left wing while Dafydd James moves to outside centre alongside Regan King in our new look centre partnership.
