Border Reivers stand-off Gregor Townsend was examined by surgeon Gordon MacKay today following the injury that forced him to retire from the Celtic League match against Llanelli Scarlets last weekend.
Townsend has chipped a bone in his left ankle and he is now due to have a scan tomorrow to ascertain if that is the complete extent of the injury.
