Young Pleased with Blues Win
13 September 2004, 12:00 am
Cardiff Blues Director of coaching David Young was very pleased with his side’s performance in Saturday’s 18-8 win over the Dragons at the Arms Park.
Speaking on the club's website http://www.cardiffblues.com/ Young said: 'We were well-beaten twice by the Dragons last season and one of our priorities this season is to improve our record against the other Welsh regions. This was a good start.”

Young was particularly pleased by the performance of his pack. ”Once again our scrum was comfortable, we also did well in the lineouts and loose, while our defence stood up to the expected early battering from their forwards close to the set-pieces,' said the former test prop.

Man of the match Gethin Jenkins won particular praise from his coach while Young was also keen to praise the second half performance of Lee Thomas.
