Borders No.8 Semo Sititi has been cleared of his sending off against Connacht last weekend  and will be free to play when the Reivers resume their Celtic League campaign after a week’s break.
The SRU’s disciplinary committee heard evidence from Sititi and also watched a video of the incident before deciding that the Samoan had not punched
Connacht scrum Tom Tierney.

Reivers’ head coach Steve Bates welcomed the decision. “The referee did not have the advantage of video evidence. We felt it was important to place the video evidence before the panel and we are pleased by the panel’s decision.”

Sititi added: “It is good news.  I thank God that I am free to continue playing immediately.”
