| Glasgow Warriors have drafted in Australian prop Lloyd Campbell-McBride on a short term contract to provide them with front row cover following Ben Prescott’s shoulder operation. |
Campbell-McBride, who is a UK passport holder due to his Welsh mother, arrived in the country yesterday from Brisbane where he represented Queensland A, Queensland President’s XV, was a member of the Queensland Reds Academy and played his club rugby for Easts Premier Grade
He said: “I just want to play as well as I can and I’m sure I’ll learn a lot. The style of play is very different over here and is more focussed on forward play, which is great for me as I can play on both sides of the scrum although I prefer loosehead.”
Warriors head coach Hugh Campbell said: “Lloyd’s not only got strong set piece play but he’s very dynamic and quick in the loose and that fits in well with the kind of rugby we’re trying to play here at Glasgow.”
