The Welsh regions made a successful entry into the Powergen Cup at the weekend, with wins for The Dragons, Cardiff Blues and the Scarlets over Guinness Premiership opposition.
The Dragons set the ball rolling on Friday night with a superb win over Leicester tigers at Rodney Parade. Craig Warlow contributed 19 points in the 24-15 win, including one of two tries for the Dragons, Ben Breeze going over for the second.

The impressive Welsh form continued on Saturday with the Cardiff Blues, buoyed by the imminent arrival of Jonah Lomu, turned over Saracens at the Arms Park, picking up one of only two four try bonus points gained at the weekend. Craig Morgan, Jamie Robinson, Robin Snowden-Taylor and Nicky Robinson all crossed in the 37-20 win.

The Llanelli Scarlets were also big winners, leaving Premiership bottom side Leeds in their wake with a 28-7 away win.  Wing Tal Selley, centre Matthew J Watkins and prop Iestyn Thomas all crossed the try line for the visitors, while outside-half Gareth Bowen contributed with 13 points from the boot.
The only dark spot for the Celtic League sides was a 23-7 defeat for the Ospreys at Gloucester. Last season’s celtic champions will now be looking to bounce back when they face Bath at Morfa next Sunday.
