Gunner's coach Todd Blackadder
Shoulder operation for Dewey
18 October 2005, 6:56 pm
By Julian Crabtree
Edinburgh Gunners’ back Rob Dewey will undergo surgery on his left shoulder to repair damage sustained during their 17-15 win over the Newport Gwent Dragons on Friday.

The typical recovery period for this type of surgery is four months, during which time Dewey will work closely with the Edinburgh Gunners' physio team.

Gunners' interim head coach Todd Blackadder said: "This is a disappointing loss for us - Rob has been on top form this season and it's a great shame to lose this young man so early in the campaign.

"Rob will do what it takes to get fit but in the mean time it provides an opportunity for another player to come through in our team," he added.
