The contribution of four great players from the Borders was celebrated today at Netherdale.
The surnames of Gregor Townsend, Alan Tait, Gary Armstrong and Doddie Weir now represent the four new hospitality suites which were today unveiled to the media.

Reivers’ Business Manager, John Thorburn said: “These suites have been named after four key players that have come through the Borders professional set-up and who have gone all the way to represent Scotland and the British and Irish Lions.
“We are looking to increase awareness of the facilities here at Netherdale and these suites will only enhance the opportunities for our current sponsors and any potential sponsors.”

Current Reivers stand-off Gregor Townsend, who is recovering from injury, said: “I’m very honoured that my name has been chosen.  If the suites can bring in more supporters to Netherdale then it is another positive outcome from the season so far.
“I just hope I don’t get too much stick off the guys because the other three are retired,” he added.

Three of the suites can hold around 12-15 people with the largest, the Armstrong suite, holding a maximum of around 20-24 people.
